Elkridge’s O’Donnell Metal Deck acquires Tenn. distributor

Elkridge-based O’Donnell Metal Deck Friday announced the acquisition of Metal Deck Direct (MDD), adding the Tennessee metal deck distributor to its growing national footprint.

The deal comes on the heels of O’Donnell’s acquisition of Spokane, Washington-based Tombari Structural Products in October.

O’Donnell Metal Deck, which has been in business for more 35 years, operates sites in Baltimore; Smyrna, Georgia; Dallas; Phoenix; Orwigsburg, Pennsylvania; Spokane, Washington; and now  with the addition of Tombari Structural Products.

Metal Deck Direct, based in Lenoir City, Tennessee, distributes similar products and boosts the geographic reach of O’Donnell Metal Deck. Together, the companies service steel fabricators and contractors throughout the country. MDD adds more sales and operations expertise and brings deep relationships in Tennessee and the Southeast and mid-South regions.

Slate Capital Group LLC partnered with management to acquire OMD in 2020 to support the company’s expansion strategy.

Dentons, LLP served as legal adviser for O’Donnell Metal Deck.  Elmore, Stone & Caffey, PLLC served as legal adviser for Metal Deck Direct.
